Reconstruction of E20, Götene-Mariestad involved several companies from Qflow
Project description
Road E20 between Mariestad and Götene, a 20 km long stretch with the current standard as a two-lane road, will be upgraded to a separate road with a median barrier and a speed of 100 km/h. The new road standard involves a 2+2 road with grade-separated intersections, which improves accessibility and road safety for both heavy and local traffic. The project, financed through a national plan and co-financing, is part of a larger goal where the entire E20 through Västra Götaland will be separated from traffic, which reduces accident risks and environmental impact for local residents.
Work from companies in the group:
Mark was responsible for the planning phase of the project and is now providing construction support during the ongoing implementation process.
Inhouse Tech identified oversized bridge structures, which led to proposals for reduced amounts of concrete, reinforcement, shaft and pavement. For 14 bridges, of which 7 were originally double-span bridges as shown in Figure 1, Inhouse Tech presented an alternative as shown in Figure 2 that the Swedish Transport Administration adopted to save on the environment. This solution resulted in significant environmental savings and a more sustainable construction.
